A tea mainly produced in the Aioi area of Naga-cho. It is a tea with an unusual formula, with tea leaves being fermented by lactic acid. The tea is called “evening” tea because the tea leaves are picked later than the usual period.
Leaves are picked after waiting until not the spring but the summer, then fermented in a tub and dried in the sun before the process is complete. The tea is characterized by it slight acidity and mild bitterness. This tea can be purchased at JA direct sales stores and roadside rest stations (Eki no Michi) in Naga-cho.
